1. Controller

Kardashev Catalyst UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Trierer Str. 6, 50676 Köln, Germany. Email: simonorzel@gmail.com. More in the imprint.

2. What we process

  • Account. Your email address when you sign in with an email code; with Google or another offered account, also your name and email address from there. Plus your team (organisation) and your role. We store no passwords (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
  • Without an account. A cookie links your free carousel to your browser. To limit free carousels per connection we store a salted hash of your IP address with the carousel, not the address itself (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, preventing abuse).
  • Your content. Your text, attached files (PDF, images, text; your browser turns a Word file into text and only the text is sent), your logo, the slides made and the changes applied. Comments not yet applied stay in your browser (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
  • Making slides with AI. To make and change a carousel we send your text, attachments, the LinkedIn tips you checked and, if you pick a template, its text and slides to Anthropic (Claude). With illustrations switched on, Recraft receives a short description of the picture and the carousel's colours (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
  • Share link. Exporting creates a link to the carousel. Anyone with the link can view it.
  • Emails. Sign-in codes, messages about your account, carousels and billing (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Tips and offers only if you agreed when signing in (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 7 (2) UWG), or as a customer about similar offers of ours (§ 7 (3) UWG). You can unsubscribe any time with the link in every such email or in your account; we store when you agreed and when you unsubscribed.
  • Server logs. The server processes technically needed access data such as IP address, time and page (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, operating securely).

3. Cookies and browser storage

We only set technically needed cookies (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG): your session after signing in, the cookie for a carousel without an account, a ten-minute cookie while you sign in with Google or another account, and your language. Your browser's storage (localStorage) holds comments not yet applied and whether you have seen the short demo in the editor. There are no tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

4. Recipients

  • Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany: servers and database.
  • WorkOS, Inc., USA: sign-in and accounts. Signing in with Google also shares your data through Google Ireland Ltd.
  • Anthropic, USA: making and changing slides with the Claude model.
  • Recraft: illustrations, only when switched on.
  • Plus Five Five, Inc. (Resend), USA: sending emails through its EU region.
  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland: payments, subscriptions and invoices. Stripe collects payment details directly; we only receive references and the status of your purchase or subscription.
  • Google Ireland Ltd.: slides use Google Fonts, which your browser loads from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, showing the chosen fonts).

Transfers to recipients outside the EU rely on an adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses (Art. 45, 46 GDPR).

5. How long we keep data

We keep your account, carousels, attachments and logo until you ask us to delete them, which you can do any time at simonorzel@gmail.com. Invoices and the matching data at Stripe are kept for eight years by law (§ 147 AO, § 14b UStG).

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and you can withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7 (3)). You can complain to a supervisory authority, for example the data protection authority of North Rhine-Westphalia.

This policy will be reviewed by a lawyer before launch. The German version is the binding one.
